The Odyssey.

Ulysses, and his story, the Odyssey, mark the birth of modern man, who is aware of his own weaknesses and yet, simultaneously, also aware of the power of his intellect. With the Odyssey, civilisation as we know it is affirmed once and for all. A musical rendition of such a vast work, both from a literary and a conceptual point of view, allows those who have not had the good fortune to read and contemplate the works of Homer to discover their roots and cultural identity. Whereas, on the one hand, the musical transformation of the Odyssey has taken into consideration the plot, it has, on the other hand, emphasised the language so as to involve the spectator, who will feel drawn into the work itself. The spectator will feel that he is being taken back in time and into his own memory by the music, the choreography and the movements of the characters, in so far as Ulysses and his Work are part of our collective unconscious.

L'Odissea.

Ulisse e la sua storia, l'Odissea, segnano la nascita dell'uomo moderno; consapevole delle proprie debolezze, ma anche del potere del proprio intelletto.

E' in definitiva, con l'Odissea, sancita la nascita della nostra civiltà.

Rendere in musica un'opera così vasta, sia dal punto di vista letterario che concettuale, potrà rendere consapevole delle proprie radici, della propria identità culturale, chiunque non abbia avuto la fortuna di poterla leggere e meditare.

La trasposizione musicale dell'Odissea ha rispettato il tessuto e la trama dell'opera ma, d'altra parte, ne ha enfatizzato il linguaggio in modo da coinvolgere lo spettatore che si sentirà parte dell'opera stessa. Lo spettatore avrà la sensazione, trascinato dalle musiche, dalle coreografie, dalle movenze dei personaggi, di compiere un viaggio a ritroso nel tempo e nella propria memoria, in quanto Ulisse e la sua Opera fanno parte del nostro inconscio collettivo.
